What is FA Degree? FA degree is two years’ degree program that all students can acquire after matric. It is usually offered in all educational college-level sectors. After Matric, it is the first step of student’s education towards professionalism.

FA Program subjects are classified into two parallel types.

The Requirement for Admission in FA:

Based on specific eligibility criteria different colleges take admission of numerous students in this program. Each criterion can differ from college to college rules and regulations.

Candidate must have 10 years of education. Mark sheet of matric or in case of O-Level, the equivalent would be required along with any other academic certificates. All the transcripts and certificates must be attested.

Matric can be done in arts and science, both students will be eligible for admission.

Results with supply will not be considered until the student passes all papers. However, very few colleges offer admission on the condition that the student will clear the supply and will submit the result sheet with pass status again.

Foreign candidates need to apply through the Ministry of Education, Government of Pakistan to have a NOC letter.

Students with FA degree are not eligible to take admission in medical or engineering fields and will have to continue in arts fields or any subject specialization.

LLB:

BBA:

Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) is not an Arts field but pupils can study in this program after FA. It is a two years’ program, somehow related to banking and finance. BSc (Bachelors of General Science):

How to Join Pak Army?

Eligibility criteria:

Eligibility criteria may vary following the courses and the ability of the one is joining.

Long course for admission has different criteria whether the SSRC (Short Service Regular Commission) or DSSC (Direct Short Service Commission). The soldier’s induction has different criteria for joining the Pak Army.

All citizens can apply in long courses except for the women candidates who can only apply for short courses as for a doctor, engineer, software engineer, psychologist and nursing. Openings and posts change after few months based on requirements.

The required age for students who have passed their matriculation or intermediate (FA or FSC) and want to join must be between (17-22) years. They must have obtained 60% marks or the candidates from specified areas must appear with 55% marks along with their domicile.

• Mojgarh and Dingarh of Punjab.

The candidates with the degree of Masters, MBBS or MBA are eligible in the age of 28 years.

All the candidates who are interested and are eligible may apply online on the website https://www.joinpakarmy.gov.pk/ and complete the registration process. After that, the candidate will be called for an initial assessment of subjects like Maths, English, Pakistan Studies and General Knowledge. On passing the test, the student will move forward for a medical test.

On clearing the medical test, the candidate will appear in ISSB (Inter-Services Selection Board) which is a formed committee who selects the candidate based on his aptitude, ability and passion. The candidate undergoes a Psychological Test, Outdoor Activities to see the physical strength and interviews. Following are four ISSB offices where the candidate can go for test, Kohat, Gujranwala, Quetta and Malir.

Once the ISSB has been passed, the next step is to join the Pak Military Academy for officer’s training that is located in Kakul.

Structure of Pak Army:

Since Pakistan has the largest military force around the world, it is based on two distinctive structures; operational and administrative.

Operational level Army is divided and formed into 9 corps (each including an independent signal brigade) and two corps-level formations (Air Defence and Strategic Forces) assigned the responsibility of specific areas that cover the mountain ranges of the north to the desert and coastal ranges of the south. Forces are spread all around the sensitive areas and stay alert 24/7.

Corps usually perform in the division of two groups commanded by Lieutenant General.

The division is comprised of three brigades including infantry, artillery and engineers commanded by a Major General. Except for the mountains division each division has got one or more than one armoured brigades.

Nineteen infantry divisions include one Special Security Division, two armoured divisions, two mechanised divisions, one engineer division, two artillery divisions (believed to have ballistic missiles) one division-sized formation, Force Command Northern Areas.

Brigade typically comes with three or more than three different battalions and are commanded by a Brigadier. Brigades also perform without divisions consisting of battalions independently.

The battalion is comprised of around 6-900 soldiers who are commanded by a Lieutenant Colonel. The number of battalions depends on the type of subunits.

A battalion may have three batteries, (air defence or artillery – generally named Quebec, Papa, Romeo and Headquarters Battery) or four companies (infantry – generally named Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, and Delta) or three squadrons (armoured).

The administrative level is divided into different regiments and the (COAS) Chief of Army Staff (General Qamar Javed Bajwa) manages everything from headquarter located in Rawalpindi. Many other honourable posts e.g. Chief of General Staff (CGS), Adjutant General (AG), Quarter Master General (QMG), Military Secretary (MS), Chief of Logistics Staff (CLS), Inspector General Training & Evaluation (IG T&E), Inspector General Arms (IG Arms), Inspector General Communications and IT (IG C&IT) and Engineer-in-Chief (E-in-C)
